Follow-up Friday

I got the house cleaned only to decide to start a 31 Days to Clean challenge.  Don't forget, if you want to follow along, like our facebook page.

Also, we are having a homeschool blog hop starting Tuesday and will post every Tuesday and Thursday for the month of April.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

This week went really fast but really slow.  The play date fell through because of illness in some of the people coming so I spent that day, okay truthfully, I've spent the whole week getting things finished up for the craft show.  My house shows it but no one is complaining so it must not be as bad as I think.  Through my eyes, we should be on an episode of hoarders because of the piles and random stuff laying everywhere and the bathrooms look like gas station bathrooms, you know, the ones you have to ask for the key before you can use it.  Anyway, next week I am going to focus on getting this house back in order.

Speaking of getting the house back in order...I read this post from orgjunkie about spring cleaning and I think that sometimes my house needs more of an organizing than a deep cleaning, because in reality, I clean all the time.  Ask my friends.  Growing up, my mom spring cleaned, but we had a wood/coal burning stove to heat our home and that put out a lot of crud.  We heat with electric/gas.  All I have is just regular ole dust.  And most of that comes from having carpet and big dogs and neither are leaving any time soon.  So all that to say, I am not spring cleaning this year!  I am not wasting every month to deep clean a certain area of my house!  I am just going to follow my motivated moms schedule and my house will always meet my approval.  (I will update my goals later in this area.)

I'm not sure what happened to me this week.  I had a great menu but I didn't fix one thing from it.  I cooked. I actually had really good meals but for some odd reason, I felt rebellious.  Oh well, I am allowed to do that.  I am the one that made the menu, I am the one who can break the menu.

So, I'm off here for now.  I need to get to the bank and get a bunch of change for the craft show and head to co-op.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

It' been a really good week.  I had a couple of really good school days, which always seems to make the week good.  I almost have everything made for the craft show, at least what I planned to make, so I'm satisfied.  My house may not have gotten cleaned but it is straightened up so I am fine with that.  I got to hang out with my blog buddies, which is always fun.  Wait until you see what we will talking about in April.  I will say this, if you know someone who is thinking about home schooling, send them this way.  We still ate and I cooked.  I was a little worried since I didn't have a planned menu but here is what we had:

  • Monday:  One Pot Spaghetti
  • Tuesday:  Grilled Chicken salad
  • Wednesday:  Honey and mustard glazed pork roast
  • Thursday:  Pork BBQ with the left over pork roast

Not to shabby for not having a plan.

Anyway, I need to get off of here and get ready for home school co-op.  We are having a Lego build-off, adults vs. kids.  We may be cheating a little (that is NOT a confession) but I need to find the pieces to make a cupcake stand and Charli is bringing cupcakes.  I think we will win!  Come on, we are bringing food laced with sugar, please!  We are the best teachers, we should get paid.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

Happy 100th post to me!  Sorry it's just a boring follow-up one.

This was a super busy week.  I don't think there was one day that I didn't leave, which is very unusual for me.  I had testing for 2 days.  Unfortunately, we didn't finish because of a snow day.  Thankfully, it wasn't the massive snow storm they were calling for.

I didn't really stick to the menu because I just got busy so needed something quicker some nights and no one was home some nights.  I did cook, however.  We just had hot dogs, since Seth requested it on the night he was the only one here and we had baked potatoes with chicken, cheese and bacon last night, since Scott had to work late and I didn't look at the recipe til late and didn't have 3 hours to fix what was planned.

As far as cleaning, I didn't.  I plan on spending Saturday cleaning until I go to the bowling party for a friend that just finished chemo for breast cancer.

Today we are going roller skating with our homeschool co-op so you may not hear from again if I choose to skate.  The last time I skated I was 11 years old.  That was 30 years ago!  Geesh, I'm old.

And I think the sun is trying to come out!

Until next time, stay blessed.

  • what's for dinner?--Ham and cheese quiche  check
Tuesday:

  • school  check
  • the obvious things  check
  • work on the kitchen  check
  • what's for dinner?--savory chicken stroganoff  check  and the left overs were even better.
Wednesday:
  • Motivated moms schedule
  • school  check
  • the obvious things  check
  • work on the kitchen  check
  • hobby day-I still need to stay busy for the craft show  check
  • what's for dinner?--pork lo mein  Instead I made bbq pork chops because Scott is not a pasta freak and this recipe calls for pasta and I am already having it several times this week.
Thursday:
  • Motivated moms schedule
  • school  check
  • the obvious things  check
  • work on the kitchen  finished!

  • what's for dinner?--Chicken Parmesan and penne  check
And here is the recipe for it:

Chicken Parmesan with Penne
1 to 1.5 pounds chicken breast strips
26 oz jar pasta sauce
8 tablespoons Parmesan--divided
8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
16 oz penne pasta, cooked and drained

Combine sauce and 6 tablespoons Parmesan in 13x9 dish.  Fold in uncooked chicken.  Cover, bake @ 375* for 30 minutes.  Uncover, top with mozzarella and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons Parmesan.  Return to oven to melt cheese.

Serve chicken and sauce over cooked penne.

I added to the pasta after it was finished cooking a small can of tomato sauce and about a tablespoon of sugar so the pasta wouldn't get all "glued" together.

Friday:
  • Motivated moms schedule
  • the obvious things  check
  • THESIS  check
  • what's for dinner?--Breakfast or leftovers

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

My menu didn't work out as planned this week.  I guess I should check the freezer for the appropriate meat before deciding on the menu from emeals.  Anyway, it all worked out.  Instead of bbq pork chops, I had bbq chicken and really that was the only thing I had to substitute.  So guess it wasn't as bad as I thought.

I finished the basement!  What a chore.  It seems to be the catch all because I only go down there to do laundry.  It is kinda the bachelor pad for the boys.  I'm just glad it is finished and now I am doing a quick clean up down there every day just to keep it that way.

We had a really good school week and since THESIS was cancelled today due to weather, I will be able to put in an extra school day and get started on my kitchen.  I'm pretty excited.  I already got the pantry organized, the fridge cleaned out, the Hoosier cabinet organized and one other cabinet done.

So I'm off to get some school done and start the laundry.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

I actually stuck to the plan again this week.  I didn't exercise, however.  I was busy cleaning my basement and when I did have time, I was snuggled under blankets because it was so cold.  Oh well, life will go on.

Monday:
  • Motivated Moms schedule check
  • School check
  • the obvious things check
  • Dessert out with blog friends Even in the midst of a snow storm, we made it.
  • Office Day check
  • Still working on the basement, but making headway or should I say floorway.  I am finally seeing empty spaces. check
  • What's on the menu:  Chicken Parmesan & Penne  I ended up making something different because I didn't have any chicken breasts (my bad)  But I fixed Ham and Broccoli Pastry which was pretty amazing.
Tuesday:
  • Motivated Moms schedule check
  • School check
  • the obvious things check
  • Hobby Day
  • Play date Got cancelled because of sickness
  • What's on the menu:  Country Fried Steak and Gravy check
Wednesday:
  • Motivated Moms schedule check
  • School check
  • the obvious things check
  • Kitchen Day
  • Still working on the basement check
  • What's on the menu:  Foil Dinners These were delicious!  I am used to foil meals being made with chicken so when I fixed this recipe I was a little skeptical.  However, there has been nothing from emeals that I have fixed that we didn't like.
Foil Meal Recipe:
1.5 pounds ground beef
(salt, pepper, aluminum foil)
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 large baking potato, thinly sliced
4 carrots, thinly sliced
4-6 tablespoons butter

Form meat into 4-6 1/2 inch thick patties.  Season with salt and pepper.  Lay each patty on a large square of aluminum foil.  Top each with a few slices of onion, potato, and carrot.  Top each with 1 tablespoon of butter, add more salt and pepper.  Wrap tightly in foil, rolling ends to completely seal the package.  Bake in 375* oven for 25-30 minutes.  I wish I would've had biscuits to serve with it but I was to lazy to make them and I didn't have any frozen.
Thursday:
  • Motivated Moms schedule check
  • School check
  • the obvious things check
  • Errand Day--If I have any to run out and get anything. check
  • Still working on the basement check
  • What's on the menu:  Parm Crusted Fish check
Friday:
  • Motivated Moms schedule check
  • the obvious things check
  • There is no THESIS this week so I will take advantage of the extra day and either work in the basement or make some jewelry for the craft show. And maybe have some school since I probably won't do much Tuesday.  I am still working on the basement.  I realized that January was almost up and I still have a lot of work to do.
  • What's on the menu:  Breakfast for Supper or left overs Going to my niece and nephews for dinner and games.  Yay!  No cooking for me, just some buffalo chicken dip.
I may update some things on my goals for 2013 and make an about me page, but I don't know if I will get time for that this week.  I'll put a tab at the top of the page beside HOME and you'll know when it's there.  I did set up a goal page but I haven't worked on the about me page yet.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-Up Friday

Sad news...

This week wasn't as productive as last week.  I had a lot of unexpected interruptions that really caused my list of things to do to go down the drain.  But that's okay, next week is a new week and I am still breathing, so that is what is important.

Nerdy news...

I am sooooo excited about my new "not" spring cleaning but cleaning a little at a time plan that I can't stand it.  I am starting to feel so organized and decluttered that you wouldn't believe it!  Some of you know what I mean because you are like me when it comes to nerdiness.

Project Peacock...

My husband is the best and I am thankful every day that he works so hard to take of me and the boys.  I know that I could never do enough to make him realize that, but Project Peacock should help.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

I am starting back to school this week...We did VERY light to almost none.  I got focused on my list of things to do and realized that in order to do it all I really need to stay up after Scott leaves and in order to do that, I need to go to bed before 1am.

I am also going to kick some serious butt on this house.  It is still looking pretty rough and I am hoping to get a jump on the spring cleaning, even though spring is longgggg way away.  I figure if I can get started on stuff now, when the weather gets really nice, I can play instead of clean.  And kick butt I did.  I am very proud of myself.  Other than school, I did everything I had planned to do this week.

So this week looks like this:
Monday
  • Motivated Moms checklist  check
  • get into the nooks and crannies of the basement  check
  • the "obvious thing" (school, devotions, laundry and so on....)  check
  • really want to start exercising  check
  • office day  check
  • what's for dinner-Crispy Tilapia with lemon butter  check
Tuesday
  • Motivated Moms checklist  check
  • stay in the nooks and crannies of the basement  check
  • the "obvious thing" (school, devotions, laundry and so on....)  check
  • exercise   check
  • hobby day (I really need to get ready for a craft show that is coming up)  check  I finally have one of the boys girlfriends quilts finished.
  • what's for dinner-Honey mustard meatloaf  check
Wednesday
  • Motivated Moms checklist  check
  • check the nooks and crannies of the basement for anything else  check  This is far from finished, but I have the entire month of January to finish it.
  • the "obvious thing" (school, devotions, laundry and so on....)  check
  • exercise  check
  • kitchen day  check
  • what's for dinner-chicken nugget salad  check
Thursday
  • Motivated Moms checklist  check
  • errand day  check
  • the "obvious thing" (school, devotions, laundry and so on....)  check
  • exercise  check
  • set up a coffee bar in my house (since I got a new Keurig for Christmas, Yay me!)  Still working on a good place to have this.
  • what's for dinner-chicken tortilla soup  I forgot to put it in the crockpot so I am having chili instead.
Friday
  • Motivated Moms checklist  check
  • THESIS  check
  • the "obvious thing" (devotions, laundry and so on....)  check
  • exercise  check
  • what's for dinner-tacos  most likely, this got posted before I had dinner.

*If some things on the menu are the same from last week, it is because we didn't have them.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

Wow!  This week went really fast and all I got done was planning.  I'm really good at that, if you don't know that already.  Really good at planning, a little slow on the follow through.  But I'm planning on working on that.

Anyway...I found out this week that I need to get my butt in gear for a craft show and now I am overwhelmed because I have never done things for a craft show.  I am thinking about making some home management binders/planners and coordinating wall hangings (like the one I blogged about a few months ago) or I could make jewelry or maybe both.  I don't know, my brain is going 10,000 miles per hour.  Maybe I should slow down on the coffee.

Tomorrow is Dec 1, so I am hoping to be done with all my Christmas gifts before the end of next week, maybe even have my shopping done.

Well, off to get ready for THESIS.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday--It's Finally Over!

Me and Charli have been doing this pantry challenge, as you know.  Anyway,  I really didn't follow the rules, but that doesn't surprise me either.  I have never been one to follow directions very well.  Just look at my old report cards from grade school, it has been my way since I was 6.  But I did manage to spend less than half of what I usually spend on grocery/household stuff throughout the course of the month and that is something I am proud of.  I did set aside the money needed for Christmas for my boys, again something that is great.  All in all, it was a success.

Since this challenge started, I have decided to not buy any meat until the new year.  If you saw my freezer, you would totally understand.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Pantry Challenge Update Week 3

Okay, had I known that I would really suck at this challenge I wouldn't have brought it up.  I am not conceding in any way but this week was and will be way worse than last week.  I was doing pretty good until I realized that I am out of a lot of stuff that I would really like to have and light bulbs are 10 for 10 at Shop and Save and so on and so on...

Any way, the way I look at it is this-I may not be sticking to the $40 a week but I am learning that there are some things that can wait and maybe doing a big once a month shopping trip to Aldis would work for those things and really that list is pretty long.  And even though I haven't stuck to it, I know I will have saved 100s of dollars once the month is up, which is really one of the goals to this challenge anyway.

To see how Charli is doing, click her name.

On another note, I am doing another challenge called Making Your Home a Haven and the first challenge was to buy a candle and light it everyday and when you see the candle to pray for peace to saturate your home.  So, I went to Walmart and bought a yummy flavor of pineapple upside down biscuits and explained to my 12 year old what we were doing and he just shrugged his shoulders and said okay and I thought it was over, until...

So, we are on our way to a friends house Thursday and he says "Mom, would it be bad that I asked them to pray for peace in our home during Royal Rangers last night?"  Instantly I'm thinking, OH CRAP!, now everyone is going to think that we are having problems and that we are constantly fighting or something bad...you know what I'm talking about, especially if you have or have ever had young kids.  But, I used it as a teachable moment.  I explained to him that it is never bad to ask someone to pray for peace in your home and it is never bad to ask for prayer for anything.  And if someone thinks that there is a problem in my home, then they can ask.  But really, everything is fine.  Couldn't we all use a little more peace, especially in the world today.

So until next time, stay blessed.

Follow up Friday--Pantry Challenge Update

So this week I was going to work on decluttering, which I did.  I got through the cabinets in my kitchen and office and my stuff in the bedroom and my bathroom.  I got a garbage bag of trash and maybe a wheel barrow full of giveaway stuff (no, I did not put the stuff in a wheel barrow, it's just a visual).  Go me!!!

As far as the pantry challenge goes...I am doing okay.  I took Charli's advice and didn't spend all my money at once but I'm still not doing great.  Me and the boys have eaten out a couple times because I really didn't feel like cooking since Scott is working.  I will do better, just a little inconvenience of convenience.  I only have $62 left but I think I can do it, I only have 5 things to pick up today.   And thank you Susie for the advice, I have been craving a big ole salad.

Don't forget to check out how Charli is doing.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

I don't want to say this week was a bust, but as far as my list went, it was.  I actually decided to start a painting project and paint my first floor.  Not just one room, but four. I have one more room to go.  So needless to say...the house is a wreck, we have been eating one pot meals, but my house looks really pretty.  Hopefully by the end of the weekend I will be finished and ready for another project.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

Monday:
  • CHECK--clean, clean, clean.  Since we got rain this weekend I now have enough water to get caught up and that is what I plan on doing.  I was on a roll.  I got most of it done today but it usually takes a couple of days once school starts.
  • CHECK-- Motivated Moms checklist  I cranked out at least 3 days worth.  Yay me!
  • CHECK-- school
  • CHECK-- devotions
  • office day
Tuesday:
  • CHECK-- Motivated Moms checklist
  • school
  • CHECK-- devotions
  • CHECK-- kitchen day  I finally organized my pantry.
Wednesday:
  • Motivated Moms checklist
  • CHECK--  school
  • CHECK--  devotions
  • hobby day--really need to get busy on Christmas gifts
  • going to Charli's to make sure our frog is dissectable.  (I know, probably not a word).
Thursday:
  • Motivated Moms checklist
  • CHECK--  school
  • CHECK--  devotions
  • CHECK-- errand day
Friday:
  • Motivated Moms checklist
  • CHECK--  THESIS
  • CHECK--  devotions
I know, I didn't get everything done, but...  Wednesday, we picked my sister-in-law up at the airport.  I love road trips with my husband.  I didn't go to Charli's because she wasn't feeling well.   As for the motivated moms lists, I finished most of the weeks things on Monday and Tuesday.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

I'm not sure why I didn't do anything on the Motivated Moms checklist, I didn't get lazy, I just didn't do any of it for some reason.  Oh well, there is always next week.  And yes I was a little sparse in the school department.  I think next year I am waiting until after Labor Day to start.

Monday:
  • Motivated Moms checklist
  • laundry--Since we have spring water I can't do laundry right now because our supply is very slow.  So I am waiting until it rains or I get enough to go to the laundry mat again.  No biggie, just part of life.  We could get city water but I have really good water and usually it isn't a problem, just around this time of the year.
  • CHECK--school
  • CHECK--canning--I did 10 pints of salsa.
  • CHECK-- devotional
Tuesday:
  • Motivated Moms checklist
  • CHECK-- laundry--Charli invited me over to do my laundry.  I have great friends.  I may be asking Kathleen if I can bring my laundry to study/swim on Thursday.
  • school
  • CHECK-- canning--24 half-pints of apple butter.  My house smells amazing.
  • CHECK-- devotional
Wednesday:
  • Motivated Moms checklist
  • laundry
  • CHECK-- school
  • canning  I didn't have anything left to can.
  • CHECK-- devotional
Thursday:
  • Motivated Moms checklist
  • CHECK-- laundry  Yeah, I took my laundry over to Kathleen's and did it while we did our study/swim.  Again, I couldn't be any more thankful for my friends.  They are the best!
  • school
  • CHECK-- study/swim  A little sad that it was the last one.  We really enjoyed this time together. I think maybe I will search for something that we can do next summer.   It's like a pool day with a purpose.
  • CHECK-- devotional
Friday:
  • Motivated Moms checklist
  • laundry
  • school
  • CHECK-- devotional
  • CHECK-- grocery shop
It is supposed to rain this weekend and I pray it does.  I know that it is Labor Day weekend and people have plans, (we were going camping) but if it doesn't rain, then I don't have water and if I don't have water, I know I'm the only one, which means several people with wells and spring water are conserving right now and some may be without.  God always provides!

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

Wow!  I thought I was going to have a rough week but really it turned out pretty good.  I do feel overwhelmed with this college thing because I am worried that Tyler will fall behind and never catch back up but I know that I should pray about it.

As far as the other two go, this was the best first week back we have ever had and I have been doing this for 13 school years.  I hope we continue with the same momentum.

Yes, I started to fizzle out toward the end of the week but a stupid sinus infection has decided to take up residence around Thursday morning.

Monday:
  • --CHECK-- get Scott's breakfast and lunch packed
  • --CHECK-- devotions
  • --CHECK-- exercise-I am going to consider pulling weeds on the bank exercise.
  • --CHECK--  laundry
  • --CHECK--  motivated moms checklist
  • --CHECK--  school
  • --CHECK-- office/planning day (blog drafts, pay bills, file)
  • --CHECK--  send Tyler off to college Yes, I cried.  But what do you expect.
And I got up at 5:30 and stayed up!  I only had 2 cups of coffee and 1 Mt. Dew, but look at what I accomplished.

Tuesday:
  • --CHECK-- get Scott's breakfast and lunch packed
  • --CHECK-- devotions
  • exercise
  • laundry
  • --CHECK-- motivated moms checklist
  • --CHECK-- school
  • --CHECK-- kitchen day (bake, menu plan, straighten pantry/cabinets)
The early riser thing was short lived, I slept in today.  But, I still got things done.  I didn't do the laundry because I forgot about it.  And exercise is such a dirty word to me.  It's not that I don't have the time, it's that I don't have the desire.

Wednesday:
  • --CHECK-- get Scott's breakfast and lunch packed
  • --CHECK-- devotions
  • exercise
  • --CHECK--  laundry
  • --CHECK--  motivated moms checklist
  • --CHECK--  school
  • --CHECK-- hobby day (work on jewelry, quilts, scrapbooks, whatever mood I'm in)
Still struggling with staying up in the morning.  I really need to go to bed earlier.  Maybe I should watch how much caffeine I consume in a day, that could be the problem.

I picked our peaches, I think they could have waited another week, but now the peach salsa is canned.  Scott is wanting to get the apples picked this weekend.

Thursday:
  • --CHECK--  get Scott's breakfast and lunch packed
  • --CHECK--  devotions
  • exercise
  • --CHECK--  laundry
  • --CHECK--  motivated moms checklist
  • school
  • --CHECK--  study/swim
  • --CHECK--  dinner in crock pot--today we had the salsa chicken with rice.  It was delish.
Friday
  • --CHECK--  get Scott's breakfast and lunch packed
  • --CHECK--  devotions
  • exercise
  • --CHECK--  laundry
  • --CHECK--  motivated moms checklist
  • school
  • --CHECK--  errand day
I don't know if I will get to school today.  I woke up yesterday feeling a little sinusy and today I feel like I am swimming in my head and my jaws hurt really bad.  I really need to grocery shop, so I think I will do that instead of school.  I think I will be in bed most of the day.

Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

I will try to get back into a routine, such as getting up early and all the "good" stuff that goes with home schooling since we start school next week.

Of course, all the unmet goals of the previous weeks will still be in the back of my mind, but I'm tired of posting them and not meeting them.   I will let you know when something groundbreaking takes place.  (This is not me giving up).

Scott has mentioned going to the state fair one day this week, so we will see how much I get done. We didn't go because we got really busy around here.  Maybe next year.

Monday:

  • CHECK--Play the catch up game and clean my house.  After being on the phone making sure a payment was made and not a scammer pulling their stuff, I finally was able to do some cleaning.  I only got my bedroom and bathroom done today, But it was really dusty due to the drywall dust.
  • CHECK--Laundry
Tuesday:
  • CHECK--Motivated Moms checklist
  • CHECK--THESIS registration, pretty much all day
  • CHECK--Laundry
  • CHECK--Put something in the crock pot
Wednesday:
  • CHECK-- Motivated Moms checklist
  • CHECK-- Laundry
Thursday:
  • CHECK-- Motivated Moms checklist
  • CHECK-- Laundry
  • Swim/study
  • Put something in the crock pot
Friday:
  • CHECK-- Motivated Moms checklist
  • CHECK-- Laundry
Until next time, stay blessed.

Follow-up Friday

Goals:
I'm going to try these again and again and again until I get them.
---I am adding this one so that the next one will work.  GO TO BED earlier!

---get up at 5:30 and stay up after Scott leaves for work.  I know that doesn't sound hard for some, but I am not a morning person.   Yes, I am awake, but I don't have any motivation to do anything.  Hopefully with a cup pot of coffee, I can find what I need to get things done.

---start counting those dreadful calories again.  I would love to drop a few pounds.

---start exercising daily.  It doesn't have to be anything big, just something.

Monday--

Scott stayed home today to finish up a bathroom remodel so I won't really get anything done except cleaning up after the weekend.  I will forgo the motivated moms checklist today.  There really is no need to vacuum anyway with drywall dust floating around.
My bathroom is almost finished.  We had a water leak that resulted in the drywall needing replaced.  Thankfully, my husband is such a handy man and that only one wall needed fixed and not the ceiling below.  (Yes, it is the upstairs bathroom).

Tuesday--
  • CHECK--Pick green beans to can. Brought home 9 Walmart bags full.
  • Try to do some things on motivated moms checklist.
  • CHECK--Laundry
  • CHECK--dinner out with some friends
  • Put a coat of paint on the bathroom wall!
Wednesday--
  • CHECK--Can green beans. Only had time to do 35 quarts because we went to the fair.  And got rained out at the fair.
  • motivated moms checklist
  • CHECK--laundry
Thursday--
  • Study/swim  We cancelled because everyone had something going on.
  • CHECK--laundry
  • motivated moms checklist

Follow-Up Friday

Wow!  I am so behind already.  I should have sent this out before I went to the Women of  Faith Conference and now, here it is Monday and I am just getting to it!

Goals:
I'm going to try these again and again and again until I get them.

---get up at 5:30 and stay up after Scott leaves for work.  I know that doesn't sound hard for some, but I am not a morning person.   Yes, I am awake, but I don't have any motivation to do anything.  Hopefully with a cup pot of coffee, I can find what I need to get things done.
I will need to go to bed earlier than 12:30 -1:00 am to get this to work.  Maybe a goal for next week should be to go to bed by at least 11:00.  Which means don't start reading a book before bed.

---start counting those dreadful calories again.  I would love to drop a few pounds.
I did start this.  I know I cheated a little but not too bad.  I am trying to eat 1200 calories and I ate 1500 Monday.
Wasn't so successful.  I won't give up!
---start exercising daily.  It doesn't have to be anything big, just something.

Yes it took me a while to get this today, but I have been busy cleaning and following my motivated moms checklist.

This is going to be a slow week, which you will notice is how most of my weeks go, but I like it like that.

Monday:

  • CHECK--Motivated moms checklist Not sure what happened, but I got a lot done on my list.  I actually was marking off days instead of tasks!
  • CHECK--Plan out my week
  • CHECK--Laundry (I'm adding it, even though I do at least 2 loads a day, just so I can check it off.)
  • Tyler's girlfriend is coming over, I think. She had a dentist appointment so wasn't able to come over.

Tuesday:

  • CHECK--Brody's birthday!
  • CHECK--Bake a cake or cookie.  Whatever he wants. He likes Ugly Cake.  I may have to post the recipe sometime because it is pretty good.  And you don't icing it so it is really easy to make.
